I’m In Philly
So the plan today was to work from home in the AM and leave for the airport in the afternoon for my 4:30 to NC. Given the crazy weather that was approaching Boston, I knew I’d never get a flight out at that time, so I called Expedia and then US Air and I was basically told that I could change my ticket on the phone, but it’d cost $100 + the ticket difference. Or, I could go into the airport, tell them that I’d like to go on standby and that for $25, they’d get me on the next available flight out – and that all the flights between Boston and Wilmington had availability. No brainer there – I got my shit together and hoofed it to the airport.
I got to the airport at about 8:00 and literally walked to the ticket counter, told the girl what I wanted to do and within 3 minutes she had me booked on a flight – departing at 8:30. So I hauled ass through security, down the end of the terminal and walked onto my plane. I was in the actual airport for probably 10 minutes total. If every airport experience were this awesome, the world would probably blow up.
Right now, however, I’m idle. Flight doesn’t leave until 1:30, so I got some time to burn. Luckily I got a verizon wireless card for my laptop and an extended life battery. Oh, and running Ubuntu vs Windows extends battery life by tons, which is just that much more awesome.
Anyway, going to get back other time wasting.
