I talked to my land lord when I got home yesterday and asked if someone might have put the knife in my car if it had been laying on the ground, etc. He hadn’t seen it before and asked me where I got it from.

I told him the story and he related to me that his wife (they both live upstairs from us) saw someone mulling about. She asked him a bunch of questions and he was cagey and eventually took off.

That pretty much sealed it – he was trying to break into my car, would have cut the windows, but I leave my doors unlocked for that very reason. He got startled when she came down and either dropped or forgot the knife. I checked this morning and he did manage to take less than a dollar’s worth of change in my console, but that’s it.

Fucking crazy.

I’m just glad that he checked the doors before slicing at my windows.
