WP via iPhone
I just downloaded a wordpress app for the iPhone and seeing how well it works. So far, it’s pretty slick.
Later, if this goes smoothly, I’ll figure out how it works with images. Definitely neat! -
Welcome Back Haiku!!
A few days ago, I posted about determining the number of syllables in a word. I’m still happy with it despite a number of edge cases that I know won’t get caught.
I ported the old haiku that were submitted years ago from an old database backup to the new database and rewrote a front-end for [...]Oct 18th, 2009 | Filed under Programming, Site News -
Site Redesign
Over the past few days, I’ve done a bunch of work to redesign the site. I obviously rethemed WordPress, but also made a number of modifications to that theme and changed how the Google Ads are distributed and displayed.
I had to make a few changes to various plugins to get them working properly, but I [...] -
Back Online
My site was offline for a few hours. The hosting company had some problems that took them a while to fix. Not sure of the details. I just know that when I woke up I didn’t have access to email or any of my domains. Not fun. Only about two months ago there was an [...]

WP & Plugin Updates
I just got through updating WP and all of my plugins to the latest versions. It takes some time because I’ve made modifications to about half of the plugins and it’s a PITA to upgrade my test system, test it, make sure I’ve made all necessary changes and then upgrade the production box and make [...]

New Photo Gallery Created

Minor change to code to properly respect user-defined page order in the headerThat’s about it. [...]

Steve, Send The Phone Spiders!
I’m absolutely amazed with the number of aspiring web indexes/search engines there are. I’m equally amazed at how many of them compare themselves to Google in some fashion. As mentioned below, I’ve been paying more attention to my access logs and the number of spiders/crawlers/bots/whatever you want to call them is crazy.
The only tip I [...] -
Please Don’t Steal My Content or Bandwidth
The internet isn’t new. There is a certain etiquette that most people should be aware of by this stage of the game. One thing not to do is to hot-link to content on another person’s site.
Why shouldn’t you do this?
First because it’s not your stuff. It’s like borrowing someone’s car without telling them. Even if [...] -
More Image Goodness
I’ve added about 100 new photos to the galleries today. Most of them are macro shots and will show up in the above-linked gallery. I still need to process pretty much all of my underwater shots though, which will be a real PITA. Before I dive into that (no pun intended), I want to get [...]
